Cryptos to watch: What is RA Token and is it the new Safemoon?
While the crypto sector has found itself mostly on the back foot in recent days, one bright spot at the smaller end of the market is RA Token, new crypto launched a few days ago that has been gaining traction.
While still a minnow by crypto standards, with each token valued at around US$0.000000000375000 at the time of writing, the value of RA Token has risen steeply by over 300% in the last 2 days, with a small MC drawing fresh interest from investors.
What is RA Token?
Technically, RA Token is not a cryptocurrency in the same way that Safemoonis, rather it serves as decentralized finance (Defi) token.
Defi tokens aim to replicate financial processes without the need of a third-party intermediary such as a bank, instead choosing to rely on computer processes such as smart contracts.
RAToken specifically says it is aiming to resolve issues that afflict other cryptos on the market, namely token price volatility and a tendency of traders to sell assets quickly and not hold onto them for the long term.
To address this, RA Token penalizes any sellers of its tokens with a 5% transaction fee, 2% of which is then redistributed to other token holders, and 3% is sent to donations on NONPROFIT charity foundations.
